NS 1000 Storage

We offer servers suitable for all business situations, talk with one of our knowledgeable staff and see how we can help you today.

Introduction

Targeted at the smaller offices, with a larger range of tower case options, or rack mounted options, this series of storage products all have a single CPU socket. If you business has grown to the point of requiring a professional grade storage system, then the NS 1000 range of storage devices is ideal. These devices provide additional storage for existing servers or can act as a file server in their own right, if you know what you want to do, we can be sure to offer you the right solution.

The smaller cases are typically limited in their expansion capability, but this is not always needed and with the largest disk drives now at 2TB (Terra Bytes), it is not always necessary to have large numbers of disk drives to provide the capacity. Along with the other storage devices in our product range, it is possible to tailor the speed and capacity of these systems with Flash based storage if required.

If greater protection of your data is required, it is possible to duplicate the data from one storage device to another, providing instant protection from the failure of a system or site.

  • Essential storage system
  • Single processor systems with limited expansion capabilities
  • Attractively priced
  • Ideal for:
    • Backup appliances
    • General office use
    • Shared files

Form Factor

Below are a selection of different case types, the images are not to scale, and are for illustrative purposes only.

Micro Tower Case

Micro Tower

The Micro Tower case is ideally suited to storage devices which have a simple single use and provide that function in a compact and unobtrusive manner. They are generally quiet and provide the most attractive look of all the case styles. Their size limits the flexibility to add to or change the basic specification.

Mini Tower Case

Mini Tower

A Mini Tower case is larger than the Micro Tower and so is able to house a greater variety of components. These cases tend to be more visible than the Micro Towers, and appear more like computers. Their main benefit of course is that they can contain additional storage components or multiple controllers.

Full Tower Case

Full Tower

The Full Tower case is the largest of the free standing case styles and has the most room for expansion and for additional storage and flexibility. These cases will generally be floor standing and will require their own space. This style is generally ideal for storage devices requiring flexibility, but at a higher cost. This class of case typically would be used with many disk drives and larger quantities of storage and would generally be used with a NS 2000 series product rather than a NS 1000 series.

Short Rack Mounted Case

Short Rack

Short Rack servers require a rack mounted cabinet to insert the storage server into. The special feature of this case style is the lack of depth, so with a short depth cabinet, they will take up less room. As with all 1U height servers, there is a limit to what can be fitted, since they are limited in height to about 44.45 mm. The short rack server is ideally suited to installations which already use short rack components but need some dedicated storage.

1U Rack Mounted Case

1U Rack Mounted

The 1U Rack Mounted storage servers are the height restricted (44.45mm) height, which means they are restricted in their storage capacity. Generally, these storage devices are not upgraded with additional storage or capabilities. Like the Short Rack servers they require a cabinet to house them.

2U Rack Mounted Case

2U Rack Mounted

A 2U Rack Mounted storage server is twice the height of a 1U device, and requires a housing cabinet. The extra height of these cases enables additional storage and capabilities. These devices are typically used for workgroups who have connected the storage to servers or to provide additional high performance storage directly to users.
